Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed Chris Silverwood as the new head coach of its national team. Silverhood will replace Rumesh Ratnaike, who was the interim coach of the team for some time.
Chris Silverwood’s first assignment as head coach will be the tour of Bangladesh, in which the Test series will be played. Notably, his contract will be for 2 years. Cross Silverwood, who played 6 Test matches and 7 ODIs for England, was appointed the head coach of the England team in October 2019.
Silverhood resigned from his position after losing 0-4 in the ‘Ashes 2021-22’. He was also the bowling coach of the England cricket team. During that time England won the ICC ODI World Cup, 2019.
