Monganui: Six-time champions Australia beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the ICC Women’s World Cup on Tuesday on the back of scintillating batting from opener Alyssa Healy and disciplined performance from their bowlers. Australian bowlers took wickets at regular intervals. Except for captain Bismah Maroof (78 not out) and all-rounder Alia Riaz (53), no batsman could play for Pakistan. Both shared a 99-run partnership, with the help of which Pakistan scored 190 for six wickets.
Earlier, Australia captain Meg Lanning won the toss and decided to bowl. Star wicketkeeper Healy (72) scored a half-century for Australia. Australia won the match with 15.3 overs to spare. The Australian team, which defeated England in the first match, has reached the top of the table while Pakistan are at the bottom after losing both the matches.

He was defeated by India in the first match. Healy and Rachael Haines (34) shared a 60-run partnership for Australia in reply to 191 runs to win. Haines, who scored a century in the first match, faced 34 balls in his innings. He was dismissed by Nashra Sandhu. Healy and Lanning (35) put on useful partnerships to put the team on the winning track.

Spinner Omaima Sohail dismissed Lanning in the 22nd over and sent Healy to the pavilion at the start of the 28th over. Ellyse Perry (26 not out) and Beth Mooney (23 not out) took the team to victory. Earlier, Captain Maroof and Riaz took Pakistan out of the initial blows to reach a respectable score. Pakistan lost four wickets for 44 runs in 13 overs. Maroof and Riaz shared a 99-run partnership, which is the highest partnership for Pakistan in the Women’s World Cup.
Maroof, who returned to the field six months after giving birth, faced 122 balls and hit eight fours.
