The Cricket Board of Sri Lanka had earlier requested the BCCI to play T-Twenty series instead of Test. The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has argued behind this that the Sri Lankan limited overs team will go on the tour of Australia and the team’s tour ends on 20 February. After this, Sri Lanka’s limited overs team will come directly to India and thus there will be no problem in bubble to bubble transfer.
Sri Lanka Cricket further said that, after five T20 Internationals, Sri Lanka’s team will play 3 T20 matches in India and in the meantime the Test team will get a chance to prepare.
