This comes a day after Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, pushed for Ganguly by pleading with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appoint the previous BCCI President to the highest cricket organisation. In an announcement made on Monday, Mamata Banerjee stated that Sourav Ganguly had been “deprived” of his place as the top of the Indian Cricket Board and urged Prime Minister Modi to “compensate him” by appointing him to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
