New Delhi, On Shakib Al Hasan’s refusal to go on the South Africa tour, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has questioned his commitment to the national team and BCB president Nazmul Hasan. Hassan said that if any team of IPL (IPL 2022) had selected him, would he have taken a similar break.
Shakib Al Hasan had refused to play the Test series against South Africa in order to be available for the IPL (IPL 2022). He was not bought by any team in the mega auction of IPL. Now he has expressed his desire to stay out of the tour citing a break from international cricket. “It is quite logical to think that if his mental and physical condition had deteriorated, he would not have given his name for the IPL auction,” Hasan told ESPNcricinfo. “But he gave his name,” he said. Does it mean that even if he got selected in the IPL, he would have said the same thing. If he doesn’t want to play for Bangladesh, we can’t do anything.”
