Batting first, Bangladesh were bowled out for 276 in 48.5 overs after making their highest score in South Africa at 314 for seven. For Bangladesh, Mehndi Hasan Miraj took four, Taskin Ahmed took three, Shariful Islam took two and Mahmudullah took one. The crucial moment of the match came in the 46th over when Miraj made David Miller his fourth victim.
