HDFC Q4FY21: Leading housing finance company HDFC Ltd has reported better-than-expected results for the March quarter. In the March quarter of FY 2021, HDFC Limited’s profits increased by 42 per cent on an annual basis. During this time the company made a profit of 3180 crores. Whereas the profit of the company was Rs 2232.5 crore in the same period a year ago. On a quarterly basis, the company’s profit increased by 8.6 percent. The company had a profit of Rs 2925.8 crore in the December quarter of FY 2021. The company has also announced a dividend of Rs 23 per share for the financial year 2021.
Keki M Mistry will be the managing director
The HDFC board has approved the appointment of Keki M Mistry to the post of Managing Director. He will remain MD of the company for 7 years from 7 May 2021. Profit before tax (PBT) of the company increased 45.73 per cent to Rs 3923.94 crore on an annual basis in the March quarter, compared to Rs 2692.44 crore in the year-ago quarter. At the same time, PBT of the company has been Rs 14,815 crores and PAT 12027 crores for the entire financial year.
Revenue 11,697.1 Crore
HDFC Ltd’s revenue declined by 2 per cent in the March quarter. During this period, the company has received a revenue of 11,697.1 crore. Whereas in the same quarter a year ago, it was Rs 11,975.72 crore.
NII rises 14 percent
HDFC Limited’s net interest income (NII) increased 14 per cent year-on-year in the March quarter. NII of the company during this period has been 4065 crores. Whereas in the same quarter a year ago, it was Rs 3564 crore. It has decreased by 0.1 percent on a quarterly basis. NII stood at Rs 4068 crore in the December quarter. Net interest margin reached 3.5 percent by the end of this year.
AUM and Loanbook
HDFC Limited’s Asset Under Management (AUM) has grown to 5.70 lakh crore in the fourth quarter. Talking about the same quarter a year ago, it was Rs 5.16 lakh crore till 31 March 2020. Individual loan as on 31 March 2021 was 77 per cent of AUM. During this period 12% in non-personal loan book and 4% in non-personal loan book has increased. The overall growth of AUM has been 10 per cent. Individual loan disbursement increased by 60 per cent in the fourth quarter.
Asset quality
HDFC’s gross NPA stood at Rs 9759 crore at the end of the fourth quarter, which is 1.98 per cent of the total loan portfolio. The NPA stood at 0.99 per cent for the Indivisual Portfolio and 4.77 per cent for the Non-Indivisual Portfolio.
