Nashik: Political parties are willing to give exemption in property tax. So on the other hand, various tax departments have to make a lot of effort in meeting the target of property tax recovery. The total outstanding has reached Rs 300 crore. In this, the information of double fine reaching up to Rs 129 crore has come to the fore. In such a situation, by the end of March this year, the target of recovery of more than 50 percent has been set by the municipal administration.
In this, there has been a loss due to the repeated moratorium on dues by the political party. A notice has been sent to the departmental officers regarding the short recovery of property tax. The total dues of property tax is 296 crore 48 lakh 60. In this, the amount of double fine is 129 crores. There is an outstanding of Rs 23 crore 41 lakh in the Satpur department. 40.50 crore in west department, 42 crore 27 lakh 96 thousand in east department, 58 crore 57 lakh 90 thousand in Panchavati department, 68 crore 51 lakh in CIDCO department, 53 thousand rupees. There is an outstanding of Rs 59 crore 19 lakh 87 thousand in Nashik Road Department.

After the financial situation in the first and second wave of Corona, 25 crore more property tax has been collected this year than in previous years. The target for property tax this year was Rs 165 crore. Out of this, Rs 110 crore 86 lakh has been recovered. The target has been set to recover at least 50 per cent of the outstanding and 80 per cent property tax from new properties by the end of March. Only two and a half months are left for this. Tax exemption scheme is not getting much response. Notice has been sent to the departmental officers for short recovery of property tax.
