Akola. In the last twenty one months, Corona has wreaked havoc in the entire state. Meanwhile, the number of deaths of pregnant women in the district is negligible due to the care being taken by the health department of the Zilla Parishad. According to medical sources in the district hospital, some of the number of pregnant women that have died in the district are mainly due to complications of childbirth. Against the background of high risk of corona disease among pregnant women, the health department of Akola Zilla Parishad is presently engaged in the care of 14 thousand 161 pregnant mothers in the district, according to the health department report.
Some private women doctors in Akola visit primary health centers once a month to examine pregnant women and help the government’s health department. This good thing has also come to the fore, District Health Officer Dr. Suresh Asole has given such information. According to the report of pregnant mothers in the district submitted to the government by the Health Department of Akola Zilla Parishad, a total of 14 thousand 161 pregnant women have been tested for HB in Akola district till the end of December 2021. Pregnant women with low Hb risk are at risk during delivery.
For this, women with less than 7 Hb are called ‘anaemic’. Such women are given injections of spermatozoa and iron tablets. At present, Akola block has the maximum number of 3,462 pregnant women. Of these, 2,121 in Akot, 1,740 in Balapur block, 1,877 in Barshitakali, 1,469 in Murtijapur, 1,616 in Patur and 1,876 in Telhara block, thus totaling 14,161 pregnant women in the district. Of these, 14,100 pregnant women have been tested for HB.
225 women’s Hb less than 7 grams!
Out of 14,161 pregnant mothers reported till the end of December 2021, 3,790 pregnant women have satisfactory Hb. Less than 7 grams of Hb was found in only 225 women. There are 11,040 women with Hb more than 7 grams and less than 11 grams, the district treated 225 women with low Hb, out of which 63 women showed improvement.
