Under Aajeevika Mission, 50 thousand new self-help groups will be formed and 61 rivers will also be revived under MNREGA.
With the intention of accelerating development and prosperity in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday brainstormed a 100-day action plan with the members of his cabinet, assigned them a target to work in a planned manner and work from all departments within a week. State Livelihood Mission was started in the year 2012-2013 in UP. Its objective is to provide employment opportunities to rural poor families by making them strong and permanent institutions keeping in mind the situation. The participation of the Central and State Government in this scheme is 60 and 40 percent respectively. In this, women are linked with employment and self-employment by forming self-help groups. Maurya said, “First of all, in the first 100 days, we will hand over the keys of the house to one lakh poor people by constructing houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, 8200 houses will also be constructed for the communities affected by natural calamity, Kala-azar, Vantangia, Musahar, Kol and Tharu etc. BJP has promised in its Sankalp Patra (Election Manifesto) in the 2022 assembly elections that all the poor houseless, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, nomadic castes, backward and deprived and other poor families will be provided residential leased land and housing facility. The Deputy Chief Minister informed that under Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA), a target has been set for the revival of 61 rivers, which is to be completed in 100 days. Maurya said that he has also sent a proposal to the Central Government to increase the remuneration given under MNREGA. At present the wage rate is fixed at Rs 213 per day and at present 262 types of work are valid under MNREGA. Maurya informed that units would be set up in 600 development blocks to supply nutritious food to malnourished children and 100 producer groups would be formed.
He said that under the third phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, five thousand square kilometers of roads would be built in 100 days and the Ministry of Rural Development would establish 150 hi-tech nurseries. These nurseries will provide saplings as per requirement for plantation. He said that 15 thousand women supervisors would be selected and trained in 100 days. For training, 300 training camps will be organized under Deendayal Upadhyay State Rural Development Institute.
