Lucknow: The Yogi government is preparing to give big gifts to the small and medium farmers of the state on the New Year. The government is going to start dozens of new schemes of the Minor Irrigation Department in the next ten days. The state government will dedicate the check dam, pond, prepared at a cost of 122 crores, to the farmers. Along with this, preparations are also being made to start 227 new projects worth 100 crores. Prime Minister Narendra Modi can inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of these schemes related to farmers in the next ten days.
The work of about 354 schemes of Minor Irrigation Department costing about 122 crores has been completed, which will directly benefit the people of 391 villages of the state including Bundelkhand. This includes 115 schemes for construction of Bundelkhand package check dam prepared at a cost of about 33 crores and 126 schemes of pond construction and renovation prepared at a cost of about 50 crores of Bundelkhand package.

The government is also going to start 227 new minor irrigation schemes at a cost of about 100 crores. People of 257 villages will get direct benefit from these schemes. These will include construction of 139 check dams across the state at a cost of about Rs 53 crore and construction and renovation of 88 ponds at a cost of about Rs 30 crore under the district plan.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken many important decisions.
It is worth noting that the Minor Irrigation Department of the state government has set a new example to overcome the deepening groundwater crisis in UP. Massive efforts have been made for groundwater augmentation by promoting rainwater harvesting, water conservation methods with less consumption of surface water. The intention of the government has been to advance the development of the state along with agriculture by providing irrigation facilities to the farmers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken many important decisions to provide better irrigation facilities to the farmers. With his efforts, the cabinet approved the proposal to implement the minor irrigation scheme in the modified form of the Chief Minister’s small irrigation scheme. Besides providing boring facility to the farmers, tube wells are being operated with solar energy. The government has worked to encourage traditional energy in the state.

Boring facility of shallow, medium and deep tube wells was provided to the farmers. Boring is done up to 30 meters in shallow boring and 31 to 60 meters in medium. Whereas in deep boring, the facility of boring 61 to 90 meters deep is provided. Along with geo-tagging of all borings, procurement of pipes etc. has been started through JAM portal. Not only this, projects worth crores of rupees have also been completed for the improvement and rehabilitation of various dams in Uttar Pradesh.
