World Tourism Day: It was not long ago, when such students could study abroad who have money or who are talented. But in this time of epidemic, students are facing many other problems apart from these two things. In today’s time, before going abroad for studies, students are worried about what are the rules and regulations related to travel in the countries they want to go. Apart from this, students are also worried about the quarantine rules in the respective countries and the expenses involved in it. There has also been confusion among students regarding the ever-changing rules regarding admission to different countries for Indian students.
By the time the second wave of the pandemic ended in India, many countries made both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for students entering there. Due to this, those students had to face a lot of problems, whose semester classes were about to start. But in the midst of all this, the good thing is that recently the state governments have given priority to the students in vaccination, so that they can start their studies as soon as possible.
Travel restrictions in different countries
Indian students are facing lot of travel restrictions by many countries. For example, flights from India were not yet allowed to enter Canada. Because of this, passengers going to Canada had to first go to some other country, after that they were going to Canada by taking another flight. However, according to a news, from today i.e. September 27, Canada has removed the ban on direct flights coming from India.
Similarly, US President Joe Biden issued a warning to his citizens against traveling to India, and with this the entry of non-immigrant travelers into the country was banned. However, there are some exceptions and special concessions are being given. For example, students from India and some other countries can enter the US if they apply for the National Interest Exception. There students with valid F-1 and M-1 visas are allowed to enter the country 30 days before the start of their program.
Most of the Indian students go abroad for their master’s degree. The cancellation of exams etc. has become a big challenge for them. At the time of beginning of studies, they have to spend a lot of money to pay fees and living expenses, but now due to travel restrictions, they have to study online. Apart from this, the cancellation of examinations in India in the wake of the pandemic is creating a major problem for the students in qualifying for graduate studies abroad. If students will not be graded how will they be able to meet the application criteria? The situation is such that students are being promoted to the next class without examination. They are not even able to go abroad for studies. In such a situation, the question is, do we have the infrastructure for those millions of new children, where they can continue their graduation studies.
role of travel agents
During the pandemic, students are getting a lot of support from travel agents. The outbreak of the pandemic has led to a huge increase in the demand for travel agent services. They are not only providing ticket and accommodation assistance to their customers but also providing a lot of support with Visa and updated travel support. Travel agents have a lot of knowledge of travel rules and regulations in different countries. In such a situation, they are playing a big role for those traveling in the post-pandemic world.
During this pandemic, the way travel agents take their customers into confidence while planning any kind of travel, and the kind of facilities they are providing to their customers, is no small thing. In such a situation, in the coming times, students who are planning to go abroad for their further studies can get the support of travel agents to a great extent. With this they can avoid any kind of trouble. Travel agents can be seen providing robust online service delivery facilities to Indian students going out for studies in the times to come.
