Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah addressed a public meeting on the completion of four years of the BJP government in Tripura on Tuesday. During this, she announced several women-centric schemes of the Tripura government on the occasion of International Women’s Day. These include women’s reservation in jobs, schemes to promote entrepreneurship among women and women empowerment.
Amit Shah said, “Today is International Women’s Day. On this occasion today our Tripura government is announcing a new action plan for women empowerment. The state government has decided that women will get 33% reservation in all jobs.”
The Home Minister further said, “Women will also get reservation regarding admission in higher educational institutions. Also, if the girl students seeking admission in institutions of national importance have to take loans, then the Government of India will give them a rebate of 3% on interest. “
Amit Shah said that 50 per cent of the Venture Capital Fund will be reserved for promoting entrepreneurship among women of Tripura. He said, “The steps taken by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Dev for women’s welfare will benefit everyone in Tripura. The government of Biplab Kumar Dev is continuously committed for the welfare and empowerment of women and tea garden workers.”

Foundation stone laid for National Forensic Science University (NFSU)
During this, Amit Shah also laid the foundation stone of National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Agartala. “The foundation stone of National Forensic Science University has been laid today. It will be the first campus in the entire North-East. Various undergraduate and post graduate courses will be run from here,” he said.
He said, “It is a matter of pride for every Tripura resident to have the first campus of National Forensic Sciences University in the entire North-East in Tripura. The stone will be perfect.
