Malegaon : The proposed increased Goods and Services Tax (GST) on cotton cloth should be withdrawn, the businessmen demanded that Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar and opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis ( Devendra Fadnavis) along with BJP state president Chandrakant Patil. Minister Pawar assured that when it comes to the GST Council, we will consider the issue positively. Leader of Opposition Fadnavis and Speaker Chandrakant Patil promised to meet Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal in Delhi immediately.
A delegation led by the organization’s Raj Purohit, State President Vinod Kakani, Mahindra Jain, North Maharashtra President Nitin Pofle met Minister Pawar and presented a memorandum. On this occasion, Minister Pawar held detailed discussions with the delegation. The government has decided to increase the rate of GST. This will put the cotton industry in trouble. Most of the machine owners in the country do not make exportable cotton cloth. Therefore, this industry is being run by overcoming many difficulties. The growth will not allow the industry to compete with cotton fabric-polyester fabric.
