- Incident in Vadki’s farm
Ralegaon: In the tehsil, wildlife is entering the fields and causing damage to the crop. At present, the Rabi crop is flourishing in the fields. In such a situation, wild boars have devoured one hectare of gram crop in a farmer’s field in Vadki. This is being ignored by the forest department and the farmers are demanding compensation.
Many farmers of Vadki region planted rabi wheat and gram crops. This year’s Kharif has cheated the farmers well. Farmers satisfied with the produce are now looking forward to the Rabi season. Cultivation of crops like gram, wheat, vegetables etc. But along with the celestial and anti-farmer Sultani crisis, wild animals are also affecting the standing crops, causing huge damage to the crops.
In a similar incident, the gram crop of one hectare field of Vadki farmer Dilip Ambaddasji Shembade Gut No 63/1 was damaged by wild boars. In which the farmer has lost lakhs. Who is responsible for the irreparable damage caused to wildlife? He has raised this question on this occasion.
Forest department is not paying attention to this. Forest department treats the loss of farmers every year by providing meager assistance, but still no concrete action is being taken to prevent such loss. This appears to be due to the unforgivable neglect of the local forest workers including the superiors. Vadki farmer Dilip Shembde has demanded that the forest department administration should pay immediate attention to this and bring justice to the farmers.
Farmers are seen using a variety of methods to protect their crops from wild animals like wild boar, nilgai, deer and monkeys. Farmers are working hard to save their crops by putting fencing around colorful sarees. At the same time, farmers guard the field by risking their lives day and night to save their crops.
