The eyes of bitcoin lovers around the world are on the trial of Craig Wright vs Ira Kleiman, which began in a court in the US city of Miami. During this trial, perhaps one of the biggest mysteries of the bitcoin world may be uncovered, who is the last bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto in the real world and what about the nearly 11 million bitcoins he holds. Happened?
Craig Wright is an Australian computer scientist who has been claiming since 2016 that he created bitcoin under the pseudonym of Satoshi Nakamoto. However, the lawsuit claims that Craig Wright was not the only one doing this. According to Ira Kleiman, his late brother David Kleiman was a bitcoin co-creator and is entitled to half of the $66 billion worth of bitcoin lying in Satoshi Nakamoto’s name. David Kleiman was a computer expert and a longtime friend of Craig Wright, who died in 2013.

The lawsuit claims that David Kleiman and Wright founded a partnership called W&K Info Defense Research, LLC, a company they used to mine bitcoin and organize their intellectual property, including bitcoin source code. Used to do
Ira Kleiman says that all the bitcoins in his brother Satoshi’s treasury were mined by his brother alone. He claimed that after David’s death, Wright attempted to defraud him through forgery and deceit. Wright denied the allegations, saying that while David Kleiman was a close friend of his, the two were never partners in any business and that he was Satoshi Nakamoto alone.

A panel of 10 jurors was elected Monday for the Craig Wright v. Ira Kleiman trial. This panel will have three weeks to hear all the evidence and determine Satoshi’s identity.
However, some of the biggest entrepreneurs and investors in the cryptocurrency world see Craig Wright’s claim as a fraud. He believes that Satoshi’s anonymity was one of the genius plans for bitcoin. This inspired others to come and innovate in this field, and at the same time, he survived the investigation and trial despite angering the financial systems of all the countries of the world. He said that the fight seems to be mainly to get the $66 billion of bitcoin lying in Satoshi’s name. However, even after the court’s decision is in favor of either one, there is no guarantee that those bitcoins will be recovered.
Despite all his claims, Craig Wright has never publicly proved that he is actually Satoshi Nakamoto. After declaring himself as Satoshi Nakamoto in May 2016, he claimed that he would transfer some bitcoins from Satoshi’s account and tell the whole world that he had Satoshi’s private key and that he was the real Satoshi. Although he could never do so. He later clarified that he did not transfer bitcoins from Satoshi’s account, taking into account the sentiments of bitcoin fans.
Meanwhile, Craig Wright also filed a defamation claim against several of his opponents, who denied his claim and called him a hypocrite.
By the way, it should also be noted that the ongoing trial in Miami is not basically to decide whether Craig Wright is the real Satoshi Nakamoto. Rather, the lawsuit is to determine whether there was a partnership between Craig Wright and the late David Kleiman. Although crypto lovers have their eyes set on this trial because of the repeated mention of Satoshi Nakamoto during the hearing, the jury panel may also decide on the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto if necessary.
