New Delhi: Delhi Police has sought information from Twitter about the account which had first tweeted about the ‘Bulli Bai’ app. Along with this, Twitter has been asked to remove the objectionable content related to this dispute. The police have also sought information from the GitHub platform about the developer of the ‘Bully By’ app.
The case registered under Section 509 (Word, gesture or intention to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code at Cyber Police Station in South-East District has now been transferred to Delhi Police Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) Unit has gone.
The action was taken by the Delhi Police on the basis of a complaint by a woman journalist at the Cyber Police Station, where she alleged that her photograph was uploaded on a website to target her. The complainant said that she is demanding immediate registration of FIR and immediate investigation against unknown persons who are harassing and abusing Muslim women on social media and internet.

Sections 153(a) (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion etc.), 153(b) (claims and allegations prejudicial to national unity), 295(a) (deliberate and malicious acts against unknown criminals, Intention to outrage religious feelings), 354D (stalking), 509 (word, gesture or intention to insult the modesty of a woman), Section 500 (criminal defamation) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 (Information Technology Act) Publication of obscene material in transmission form) has been registered.
