Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday indicated that he was waiting for the approval of the BJP high command in this regard, amid increasing pressure for the expansion of the Council of Ministers. Bommai said in view of the completion of six months of his government on January 28 that he would release a booklet detailing the achievements of the state government on the occasion.
On the question related to the expansion or reshuffle of the Council of Ministers, Bommai said, “Four ministerial posts are vacant, on which there is bound to be ambition for appointment. There’s no harm in that either. The party high command knows when and how to do this. I am also bringing this issue to the notice of the high command.

Whenever the high command calls me for discussion, I will give full details to him.” On the question of appointments to different boards and corporations, Bommai said it would be discussed in the party meeting and based on the findings of the meeting, the relevant steps would be taken.
Ahead of the proposed 2023 assembly elections in Karnataka, Bommai is under increasing pressure to reshuffle or expand the council of ministers to fill vacant ministerial posts as well as induct new faces. A decision on the expansion or reshuffle of the council of ministers in Karnataka is expected only after the assembly elections in five states.
