“I was in the crosswalk about to reach the other side of the road when next thing I knew I was flying through the air,” Puglisi posted on Monday. “I broke two bones in my backbone.
“I’m home now recovering,” the reporter added. “I’m walking around a little bit but the pain is tough. I’m bummed to be put on the bench like this but I hope to be back soon. Until then, stay safe and look both ways when crossing the street.”

The driver was cited for a crosswalk violation, based on police. The driver might have had a medical difficulty that contributed to the accident, police added.

This incident in Quincy comes a few week after a pedestrian hit-and-run within the metropolis. Police on Feb. 27 at round 6 p.m. responded to an injured pedestrian within the space of 1020 Southern Artery.
A mid-size dark-colored SUV reportedly struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk, and the motive force fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to an space hospital.
As of Monday, no suspect had been recognized for the pedestrian hit-and-run from 13 days in the past. Police have been urging anybody with details about the hit-and-run to name Quincy PD at 617-479-1212.
