New Delhi: The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said on Tuesday that there will be a curfew in Delhi on the weekend in view of the rapidly increasing cases of infection due to the spread of the new form of corona virus ‘Omicron’. Sources gave this information.
He informed that apart from essential services in Delhi, all government officials will work from home. Private offices will open with 50 percent capacity. On Monday, 4,099 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Delhi and the infection rate was recorded at 6.46 percent. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had said that the new form of corona virus ‘Omicron’ is responsible for the increasing cases of infection in the city and with the increase in the rate of admission of patients in hospitals, more restrictions will be imposed.

The infection rate in the city is the highest since May 18. According to the DDMA’s Gradual Response Action Plan (GRAP), a ‘red alert’ is declared when the infection rate exceeds five percent for five consecutive days, under which complete curfew is imposed and most economic activities in the national capital come to a standstill.
