IMD Weather Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in the Western Himalayan region and adjoining plains from March 6 to March 8, apart from tomorrow i.e. March 3. The states and union territories that are most likely to receive rain on Thursday include Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
In addition, the IMD has forecast gusty winds reaching 60 kmph gusting to 60 kmph over southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal along and off Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh coasts between March 3 and 6.
Apart from this, heavy rains are likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry-Karaikal during March 3 and March 5. Whereas on March 4 and March 6, there is a possibility of heavy rain in different areas. Rain has been predicted in Andhra Pradesh on March 4 and 5.

At the same time, it may rain in the national capital Delhi tonight and tomorrow i.e. on Thursday. IMD has predicted light rain on Thursday. Officials said that light rain with surface winds of 25 to 35 kmph is expected in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the national capital on Tuesday recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal. Today’s forecast shows that the minimum temperature will be around 10 degree Celsius, while the maximum temperature may touch 28 degree Celsius in some parts of Delhi.
IMD scientist RK Jenamani said that another western disturbance is expected to bring very light rain with surface winds of 25 to 35 kmph. The effect of Western Disturbance will be observed on Wednesday night while peak activity during the day is expected on Thursday.
He further said that February saw seven Western Disturbances, which meant that the temperature did not rise much during the day. Now we will see this increase in the next seven days and the maximum temperature may touch the 30 degree mark for the first time this season.
