Weather Updates: Monsoon has returned from many parts of the country, but it is still raining in some states and union territories. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in some states of the country in the next few days.
In a bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department on Saturday evening, it has been said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in many states of South India till October 17. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in the northwest, on October 17 and 18.

IMD has predicted heavy rains in Kerala, Mahe, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal in South India. According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area lies over southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Kerala. Another Low Pressure Area is persisting over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas. This low pressure cyclonic circulation is likely to move generally northwestwards ie West Uttar Pradesh.
IMD has predicted heavy rain in different areas of Kerala on Sunday. Along with this, heavy rain has also been predicted in Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. On October 17, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Due to low pressure in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and neighboring areas, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and isolated areas of Chhattisgarh. There is a possibility of rain in Odisha from 6 to 18 October, Vidarbha on 16 and 17 October and in the middle of 17 and 18 October. The IMD has also said that wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in most areas in Uttarakhand during October 17 to 19. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in some areas. Similar weather will prevail over Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh from October 17 to 18. And on October 17, there is a possibility of rain in Haryana, Chandigarh and East Rajasthan. On October 18, heavy rain has also been predicted in Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh.
Lightning and thundershowers are very likely at isolated places over Northwest India on October 17 and 18. There is a possibility of hailstorm in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on October 17 and isolated areas of Uttarakhand on October 17 and 18. IMD has said that on October 17 and 18, strong winds with a speed of 30-40 kmph will prevail in Uttar Pradesh. After October 19, there is a possibility of dry weather in these areas.
