Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday that heatwave will continue in Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Vidarbha till Wednesday, April 3. Along with this, the Meteorological Department also informed that from today till April 4, there will be heavy rain in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
The IMD also warned that an upper air cyclonic pressure is very likely to form over South Andaman Sea and neighborhood on April 6. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Nicobar Islands during the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert to the fishermen of this area not to go into the sea.
Meteorological Department predicted rain in these states
The Meteorological Department said that strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal will cause widespread heavy rains over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 5 days.

Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya will receive heavy rains on April 2 and 5. While in Nagaland-Manipur on April 3, similar rain has been predicted in the northern region of West Bengal and Sikkim on April 2 to 4. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Meghalaya on April 3-4.
The Meteorological Department also said that there is a possibility of lightning in Assam-Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on April 2 and 3. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are also likely to receive very heavy rains on April 5.
Regarding South India, IMD said that during the next 5 days, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Kerala-Mahe and light rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal and Southern areas of Karnataka. Apart from this, light rain is expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh from April 4 to 6 and Telangana on April 6.
Severe heat wave will prevail in these states
Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, has been battling a heat wave for the last 15 days. Jammu recorded a maximum temperature of 37.3 degrees Celsius on March 28, breaking a 76-year-old record. The Meteorological Department said that the people of Jammu are not going to get relief in the coming days and heat wave conditions are expected here on Wednesday as well.
The Meteorological Department said that along with this, heat wave conditions are expected in Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha and Gujraj on April 3. There will be no significant change in the maximum temperature during the next five days over the rest of the country.
