IMD data shows that India has received 41 per cent more rainfall than normal between October 1-21, with Uttarakhand alone receiving five times the normal rainfall. Meanwhile, Southwest Monsoon is passing through Kohima, Silchar, Krishnanagar, Baripada, Malkangiri. Conditions are becoming favorable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from rest of Northeast India; the entire northern Bay of Bengal; Rest of West Bengal; parts of central Bay of Bengal; Rest of Odisha; parts of Andhra Pradesh; some more parts of Telangana; whole of Goa; Around 23 October, some more parts of Karnataka and some more parts of Central Arabian Sea.
The Southwest Monsoon is likely to withdraw from the entire country around October 26, 2021. Along with this, Northeast Monsoon rains are also likely to start over Southeast Peninsular India from around October 26, 2021.

Strong weather (wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely) over East-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Andaman Sea. Fishermen were advised not to venture into these areas.
