Weather Update: With the beginning of March, the heat of summer has started increasing in many states of the country. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), summer will show its peak in most parts of the country for the next few days. After winter, many parts of the country are witnessing record temperature and many states are also likely to experience heat wave in the coming days. The temperature has been increasing continuously for the last few days and people have started feeling the heat.
Delhi and Mumbai recorded unusually high temperatures in March itself, with the mercury reaching record highs. The maximum temperature was recorded in the national capital Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, eight degrees above normal temperature was recorded in Mumbai. The department has issued a warning of severe heat in Mumbai.
The maximum temperature is expected to be above normal in these states.
According to the IMD, apart from the capital Delhi, the maximum temperature during March to May is expected to be ‘above normal’ in the plains of North India including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The department said that maximum temperatures are very likely to remain above normal at many places over western and adjoining parts of central India, north-west India and northern parts of northeast India.

However, the IMD said maximum temperatures are likely to remain below normal over most parts of peninsular India, east and northeast India and northern plains. The Meteorological Department said that the heat wave conditions are expected to remain below normal in the plains of the Indo-Gangetic region during this period.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature of the weather is going to increase further in the coming days and after Holi, people will have to face more heat and strong scorching winds. Delhi’s condition
The minimum temperature in the national capital on Tuesday was recorded at 18.9 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal. On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was 17 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34 degree Celsius on Tuesday and the sky is expected to remain clear. As per the IMD’s forecast, the minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be 20 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius respectively on Wednesday.
According to the Meteorological Department, the wind speed will be high in the capital on March 15 and 16, so the maximum temperature cannot increase further. But the weather will remain warm above average. According to IMD, till March 18, the maximum temperature will increase.
In these states there will be severe heat after Holi
According to IMD, after Holi, there is going to be a scorching heat in different areas of Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkangova, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. The temperature in these states can exceed 38 degrees. Strong heat wave conditions are likely over Odisha and West Rajasthan on March 16 and 17. The maximum temperature in Mumbai touched an all-time high of 39.4 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature remained eight degrees above normal and heat wave warnings have been issued in Thane, Palghar and Raigad.
The highest temperature recorded in Mumbai last year was 40.9 degrees Celsius on March 28. Mumbai recorded the highest ever temperature in 1956 with 41.7 degrees Celsius on March 18. According to the Meteorological Department, the heat continues in Gujarat, due to which the temperature of North India is increasing rapidly. Apart from this, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of Odisha and western parts of Rajasthan in the coming days. At the same time, heat has now knocked in Uttar Pradesh and there is a possibility of heat wave in the state after Holi.
