IMD Heatwave And Rainfall Forecast: The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has released the full month forecast for April. The IMD informed on Sunday that heavy rains will continue over the north-eastern states of India, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam-Meghalaya region for the next two days and thereafter the situation will subside.
The Meteorological Department also informed that there is a possibility of severe heat in April in North, West and Central parts of India, while rain and strong winds are more likely to occur in isolated areas of South and North East India.
In a statement on Sunday, the Meteorological Department said that during the next five days, there is a possibility of strong heatwave in South Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, while in Gujarat, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh during the next three days. Apart from this, strong winds with speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph will prevail over southeast Bay of Bengal and South Andaman Sea on April 5-6.

The IMD said in its official statement that there is a possibility of widespread rain over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 3 days.
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and extremely heavy rains in Meghalaya on April 3 and 4.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Nagaland-Manipur on April 3.
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya will also receive heavy rains on April 5.
Very heavy rain will occur over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 3rd and 4th April.
Thunderstorm and lightning are predicted in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today.
Warning for Southern States
The IMD said that there is a possibility of light rain over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka during the next 5 days.
It will rain in North Interior Karnataka from 5-7 April. Thunderstorm and lightning are very likely over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on April 3, 5 and 6.
Coastal Andhra Pradesh will also see light rain from April 3-5.
During the next 5 days, the situation of rain will continue in Kerala and Mahe also.
There will be heavy rain in Andaman and Nicobar on April 5 and 6.
strong wind warning
The IMD has also mentioned that wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph will prevail over Bay of Bengal and South Andaman Sea on April 5 and 6.
Winds gusting to 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph will prevail over central parts of South Bay of Bengal on April 7.
Fishermen have been advised to stay away from sea in this area.
heatwave predictions
IMD said that heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over South Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh during next 5 days and over Gujarat, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh during next 3 days.
The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heat wave in some parts of Rajasthan, South Haryana, Delhi, South Uttar Pradesh till April 3-7.
Similar situation will continue in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gujarat from April 3-5.
Heat wave conditions will continue in Himachal Pradesh (3-4 April), Jammu (April 3).
In West Rajasthan also, severe heat wave conditions are likely to persist on April 3-4.
