Ambernath: Water supply through tap at the Dargah (hill) of Haji Malang, which is about 12 kilometers from Kalyan Railway Station and under the jurisdiction of Ambernath Panchayat Samiti. There was no water supply plan. With the efforts of Regional MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, now Malanggad will soon get its own independent water supply scheme. About Rs.12.50 crore is proposed to implement the scheme. In which expenditure on water lifting machinery, water hyacinth, distribution system, pipeline, dam and MIDC water etc. is planned.
This will be the first time in Kalyan parliamentary constituency to supply water through taps on the mountain, at a height of about 4 to 4 and a half kilometers above the level. Along with this, the benefit of the said scheme will also be available to the surrounding villages. This was also one of the important phases formulated by Dr. Shrikant Shinde, Member of Parliament from Kalyan Lok Sabha Constituency. The composition of Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency is rural and urban. It includes Diva, Mumbra, Kalwa Complex Kalyan, Dombivli, Ulhasnagar towns of Thane Municipal Corporation area as well as a major part of rural areas of Kalyan and Ambernath talukas also comes under this constituency.

Efforts to establish water supply schemes
Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde is keen on rural reforms apart from building infrastructure in urban areas. As a part of the same infrastructure which was never created before is now being made available in rural areas. These are being produced with the efforts of Shrikant Shinde. Over the years, MP Dr. Shinde has tried to build more and more roads in Kalyan and Ambernath taluks. Since then efforts are being made to establish existing water supply schemes in these villages.

Proposal to set up water supply scheme
Known as a tourist and religious place in Thane district, Haji Malang had no water facilities earlier. MP Dr. Shinde had proposed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad to set up an independent water supply scheme at Malanggad. In the meeting held four months ago, MP Dr. Shinde again discussed this. The concept will be finalized soon and a fund of Rs.12.50 crore has been sanctioned. Under this scheme an independent water supply scheme will be set up in Malang Gad. Due to which the water problem of Malanggad as well as the surrounding rural areas will also be solved.
In the review meeting on Wednesday, Zilla Parishad President Pushpa Patil, Zilla Parishad Member Ramesh Patil, Deputy Chairman of Kalyan Panchayat Samiti Bharat Bhoir, Former Sarpanch of Newali Kharad Chanu Jadhav, Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Kavita Bhagat, Additional Chief Executive Officer Dr. Rupali Satpute, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Subhash Bhor, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DEO) Avinash Phadtare, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Gram Panchayat) Chandrakant Pawar and various officers and staff were present.
