Yevala: In the drought-prone areas of Nashik district, 41 villages including Rajapur of Yeola tehsil have finally got technical approval from the Chief Engineers of Maharashtra Life Authority. Therefore, after removing a major obstacle in the scheme, the proposal has been sent to the government for administrative approval.
NCP’s Yeola Assembly Speaker and Yewala Market Committee’s Administrator President Vasant Pawar said that Minister Chhagan Bhujbal is keeping an eye on it for the funds needed for this scheme and other supplementary matters. Yewla tehsil has been plagued by frequent droughts. Efforts are being made to make these villages free from water supply through tankers. The problem of water in this area is likely to be solved by 41 village regional water supply scheme including Rajapur and 18 village regional water supply scheme including Dhulgaon. Vasant Pawar said that Subhash Bhujbal, Chief Engineer, Maharashtra Life Authority has recently given technical approval for 41 villages including Rajapur in drought prone and drought prone areas under Jaljeevan Mission. The proposal has been sent to the government for administrative approval. For this, Minister Bhujbal has reviewed all the matters necessary for the proposal by reviewing it with the concerned officers. The amount has not yet been approved for the scheme. Technically a budget of Rs 162.33 crore has been approved for this scheme.

Where will the water come from?
For this water supply scheme, water will be pumped from Nandur Madhameshwar dam. Kiran Kulkarni, executive director of Godavari Irrigation Development Corporation, Aurangabad, has submitted a proposal for reservation of 3.737 gallons of water for this. Efforts are being made to get this proposal approved by Minister Chhagan Bhujbal. Further, as per the instructions of the foster minister by the District Collector to the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad. Through a personal conversation, Pawar said that he is making constant efforts for this proposal as well.
These villages will benefit
The Regional Water Supply Scheme includes Rajapur, Mamdapur, Rendale, Angulgaon, Dongargaon, Devdari, Kharwandi, Rahdi, Pimplekhute, Panhalsathe, Waghle, Aherwadi, Kolam Khurd, Panjarwadi, Zaydre, Hadapsawargaon, Vaibuthi, Khamgaon, Devgaon, Dhamkhedsure. Water will be supplied to all villages by gravity from Lahit, Gorakhnagar, Vasantnagar, Chandgaon, Bykheda, Kolam Bu, Kolgaon, Kusmadi, Naygavan Khirdisathe, Mahalgaon, Ganeshpur, Kasarkhede, Dugalgaon Bokte and Panhalsathe. In Yewala tehsil, 38 villages have been added to the regional water supply scheme, adding other villages to the scheme. Minister Chhagan Bhujbal has directed to include some villages including Dhulgaon and 17 villages in the regional water supply scheme in this scheme. According to which the approval work of this scheme is also in progress. A fund of Rs 58.81 crore has been proposed for this scheme. It was informed that follow up is also being done for the approval of this scheme.
