District Fisheries Development Officer (DFDO) Hali Tajo said that thousands of fish have died in the river at Seppa, the district headquarters. Tajo said that due to the increase in the amount of TDS in the river water, the fish have difficulty in breathing, due to which they have died.

Here, the local people of Seppa were in panic after many fish were found dead in the Kameng river. The residents of Seppa have blamed China for the increase in TDS in the river. Alleged that the water has turned black due to construction activities by the neighboring country. Seppa East MLA (MLA) Tapuk Taku appealed to the state government to immediately constitute a committee of experts to find out the reasons behind the sudden change in the color of Kameng river water and the large number of fish deaths.
