On the instructions of Aaditya Thackeray, the officers of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, BMC Commissioner, Horticulture Department are working. Under this, a draft has been approved to make terraces and vertical gardens mandatory in buildings with an area of more than 2000 square feet in Mumbai. Due to the paucity of space, the places where citizens, children are being deprived of the garden, the terrace gardens built in the buildings will make up for this.
Emphasis on reducing noise and air pollution
Apart from terraces, in the big buildings of Mumbai, there is a lot of free space in which a garden can be made. This will also reduce the problem of temperature rise to some extent. It is going to be mandatory for builders to make terraces and vertical gardens only at the time of construction of big buildings. At the time of construction of buildings, it will be mandatory to make vertical garden, podium garden, biowall with greenery. Noise and air pollution can also be reduced by envisioning gardens under the bridge, walls of buildings. This will also enhance the beauty of Mumbai.
