UP Election Results: As soon as the elections begin, many types of videos and photos start going viral on social media. In this, especially the posts related to EVM are very much. After voting, a similar picture was also revealed from Hastinapur Vidhan Sabha of district Meerut, where Samajwadi Party candidate Yogesh Verma was keeping an eye on the EVM strong room with binoculars. Its pictures became very viral on social media. However, after the election results, it was found that his hard work went in water, as he lost the election.
Verma lost by 7,312 to sitting Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Dinesh Khatik. Samajwadi Party leader got 1,07,587 votes against BJP candidate, while Dinesh Khatik got 1,00,275 votes. Archana Gautam, winner of the beauty pageant contested as a Congress candidate, getting 1,519 votes.
Verma had last won the seat in 2007 on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket. He then unsuccessfully contested the 2012 elections as a candidate of the Peace Party.
‘Lost elections because of many Jaichands and Vibhishana’
Speaking to ANI on the election results, Yogesh Verma said, “I did EVM and strong room surveillance for a whole month immediately after the election. We have won and lost this election, those who have not got tickets from the party’s side. They are the reason for the defeat. Jaichand, those who didn’t get tickets created trouble by protesting inside.”
He further said, “There were many vibhishana, ghar ka bhi dhaye lanka. I will complain to the national president that there is no use in keeping such people in the party. Take all kinds of help from the party for five years, after that when the ticket If they don’t get it, then they mess up. It is necessary to teach them a lesson.”

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav alleged that EVMs were being tampered with in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, a day after exit polls predicted victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the UP assembly elections.

After his statement, the video of Yogesh Verma started going viral on social media, in which he was seen standing on top of a jeep and monitoring the EVM strong room through a telescope.
The Samajwadi Party won 111 seats in the 403-member assembly. Its alliance partner RLD got eight seats, while Om Prakash Rajbhar’s SBSP got six seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies won 273 seats.
