Bhandara, The unseasonal rains that started as the link between the year 2021 and the arrival of 2022 brought tears to the eyes of the farmers. In the last week of December, the farmers could not even forget the pain of loss of crops due to hailstorm that in the first fortnight of the new year, the weather wreaked so much havoc that the farmers beat their heads.
Tumsar, Mohadi, Pawani, Lakhandur in these four tehsils have caused heavy damage due to unseasonal rains. Due to the wrath of nature, paddy, soybean, cotton and other crops of Kharif crop have been destroyed. Unseasonal rains have affected the cultivation of 1008.3 hectares in 13 villages of Pawani tehsil.
254 hectares of crops in 10 villages of Lakhandur tehsil have been destroyed due to unseasonal rains. Similarly, 45 hectare crop of a village in Tumsar tehsil has been affected. In Mohadi tehsil, hail fell in 4 villages, due to which 35 hectares of crop has been damaged. Due to unseasonal rain, hail and cloudy environment, all the crops of the season including gram, wheat have suffered heavy damage. It is being told that due to unseasonal rains, 4934 hectares of crop has been destroyed in Lakhandur tehsil.
Due to hailstorm here in the month of December, 254 hectare area of the tehsil crop was destroyed. In Lakhandur tehsil, 1311 hectares of wheat, 3499 hectares of gram, 2268 hectares of lakhori, 2219 hectares of urad, 2183 hectares of moong and pea are grown in 2821 hectares. In this way, various Rabi crops are grown in an area of 14,300 hectares in Lakhandur tehsil.
