Ukraine-Russia War: Union Minister General VK Singh said on Friday that an Indian student has been hospitalized after he was allegedly shot in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. Singh told news agency ANI that today it was reported that a student coming from Kyiv was shot and was taken back to Kyiv midway.
Singh, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, said he was immediately admitted to a hospital in Kyiv. We are trying to evacuate as many children as possible with the least amount of damage. Singh said that all this is happening in the midst of war. Singh is one of the four ministers sent as special envoys to Ukraine’s neighboring countries to oversee the evacuation of Indians from war-torn Ukraine.
This comes days after an Indian student was killed in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, where missile attacks were reported. Singh is currently in its neighboring country Poland to rescue Indians trapped in war-torn Ukraine.
Significantly, on March 1, Karnataka student Naveen SG was killed in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He had gone out to get food for himself and fellow students at the time of the incident. Singh said that the central government is trying its best to ensure that maximum number of students can come out of Ukraine with minimum loss.
India is repatriating its citizens stranded in the war-torn country after Russia invaded Ukraine via Romania, Hungary and Poland. Around 18,000 Indians have returned to the country in seven days> Around 7,000 people are expected to return safely in the next two days, the government said on Thursday.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that a total of 18,000 Indian nationals have returned to India from Ukraine after the issue of our first advisory. Under Operation Ganga, 30 flights have so far reached India carrying 6,400 Indians from Ukraine. There are 18 more flight schedules in the next 24 hours.
Today is the ninth day of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The war between Russia and Ukraine started on 24 February. After this, Russia is constantly targeting major cities of Ukraine. The Russian military has intensified its attacks in the capital Kyiv and Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city.
