As Delhi obtained its first monsoon showers on Thursday morning, offering respite from the oppressive warmth, woes started for commuters as they battled site visitors snarls and waterlogging. The Delhi Traffic Police, by means of a tweet, requested commuters to plan their journey accordingly.
“As per IMD report, ‘Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds’ would occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly,” the site visitors police tweeted.
Several components of Delhi like ITO, Barapullah, Ring Road and the capital borders, specifically Delhi-Noida border, Chilla Border, UP Gate, Delhi-Gurugram street skilled heavy site visitors as rains lashed the nationwide capital. Waterlogging was reported close to Pragati Maidan, Delhi-Meerut Expressway close to Vinod Nagar, Pul Prahaladpur underpass, IP Estate in entrance of WHO constructing, underneath Zakhira flyover, Jahangirpuri Metro station, Loni Road roundabout and Azadpur market underpass.
Earlier this month, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had mentioned the Delhi authorities is able to fight waterlogging on a conflict footing and it’s focussing on fixing the issue with micro planning.The Public Works Department (PWD) has arrange a Central Control Room from the place 10 important waterlogging websites in Delhi are being monitored 24×7 by means of CCTV cameras.
