- OBC cell Congress demanded casteless census
Nagpur. Congress District OBC Cell has met the District Magistrate and demanded that unless OBC reservation is ensured in local body institutions, then elections should not even be held. The delegation demanded that in the census to be held in 2021-22, there should be a caste-based enumeration of OBCs.
The reason for the end of OBC political reservation is not only OBC’s empirical data. Census is conducted every 10 years but how is there a need to collect data again. On the one hand, there would have been a count of animals in the country but why the OBC census is not being done. The delegation led by OBC cell president Avantika Lekurwale, city president Rajesh Kumbhalkar, District Magistrate Vimala R. Met and kept the above things.
problem solving with data
Lekurwale said that till the independent enumeration of OBCs is not done in this census, the issue of political reservation is not going to be resolved. If OBC census is done, then all the problems like educational reservation, benefits of schemes, development fund, representation in the assembly and Lok Sabha, condition of non-criminal etc. will be solved. In 2011, the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh did the OBC census but its data is still not received by Maharashtra.
He alleged that the ruling BJP government is not giving data and its leaders are doing political drama by agitating on the road. If BJP is with OBC then it should be included in census otherwise Congress will not sit still. During this a large number of OBC cell officials and workers including Sanjay Bhisekar, Chandrashekhar Hinge, Vijaya Dhote, Suryabhan Jaiswal, Parmeshwar Raut, Nageshwar Raut, Ajay Raut, Atul Balbudhe, Nishant Hazare, Bhupesh Chavan, Arvind Kshirsagar attended.
