Bhiwani (Haryana): Three people were killed while two others were seriously injured when a large part of a mountain collapsed during mining at Dadam in Bhiwani district of Haryana, who have been admitted to the Government Hospital in Hisar. The officer gave this information. He said that some more people are feared to be trapped under the rubble. Several other vehicles, including four mining machines, were also buried under the debris.
The official said that during mining work at Dadam village under Tosham police station at around 8 am, a large part of the mountain suddenly collapsed, due to which about half a dozen popland machines and dumpers parked there were buried. He said the administration was carrying out relief and rescue operations to rescue people from the debris.
Tehsildar Ravindra Kumar said, “Three bodies have been recovered from the rubble, the deceased are laborers from Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The police administration has banned the movement of people at the place where the mountain passes. After getting information about the incident, Agriculture Minister JP Dalal also reached the spot and took stock of the spot. He ordered the officials not to take any laxity in the relief work.

Deputy Commissioner RS Dhillon and Superintendent of Police Ajit Singh Shekhawat CTM Harbir Singh are also present on the spot. Witness and driver Satpal, a resident of Pinjokhara village, said that there was no chance to recover, a sudden incident happened and a balloon of dust rose all around, due to which nothing was visible. He told that his dumper also slid about 20 feet ahead of the stone that fell with the blast. Satpal said that he could not believe that he was alive.
Jaswant, a resident of Khanak, who was present at the spot, said, “Four popland machines and four dumpers were present at the mining site on Saturday morning, I was also in my dumper there. At about 9.30 a.m. suddenly a cloud of dust rose and with a loud bang, huge stones started falling from the mountain, it lasted for about two minutes. It felt like nothing would be left now.” Haryana Chief Minister said that he is in constant touch with the district administration regarding this incident.

He tweeted, “Saddened by the landslide incident in Dadam mining area of Bhiwani. I am in constant touch with the local administration to ensure speedy rescue operation and provide immediate assistance to the injured.” It is noteworthy that stone is mined in Dadam of Tosham area and after a ban of about two months, the National Green Tribunal had given approval for re-mining on Thursday itself and mining started on Friday.
