- Online made everyone ‘imprisoned’ in offices
- queues in banks
Nagpur. On March 31, the last day of the financial year, where a large crowd was seen in some offices, there was desolation in many places. In the earlier times, most of the tax offices including GST, Income Tax, Sales Tax used to see hustle and bustle throughout the day, but in the changing times, everything changed. The date is the same but the way of working has changed, due to which the desolation is seen in front of the offices. Although the professionals were working for the last several days. Now everyone works in their respective offices. So the hassle of filing returns is over.
Earlier there used to be queues till night and night, special camps were set up by the department. This tradition has now become history. People are doing all the work online sitting in homes, offices and officials are also feeling very comfortable with this process. However, those filing professional tax and VAT returns had to struggle a lot.
Assessment activity
Many professionals were seen in Income Tax offices. These people were reaching for the settlement of the assessment case. Throughout the day, the hearing of assessment cases was held with different officers. Most of the officers remained busy regarding this matter. Everyone wanted that some cases should be settled on the last day of the financial year.
Returns already filed
CA Kailash Jogani says that now people are starting to understand the penalty and other problems. That’s why people no longer wait for the last days. Get your work done before the time. In the past, there used to be a lot of problems regarding the server in the last days but now it does not happen, because most of the work people do before time. The last time people have to face the hassles. People are aware of all these things and hence they have become aware.
Banks remain open till night
On the other hand, in the branches of the bank, since the night of 30, the employees were seen dealing with the work. They were busy with work till late night and were serious about their goals. More or less the same situation was also seen on 31. The customers were crowded throughout the day, so the presence of the employees at night was worth seeing. There was a bit more crowd in the zonal offices.
Professional tax payers
CA. Ritesh Mehta told that those who filed professional tax returns were facing problems for the last 4-5 days. The commissioner was also informed about this, but the improvement could not be done. After depositing the money, it was not reflecting at all. Similarly, the server which filed the VAT return also kept dying. Small and big traders falling in this category had to face a lot of problems. Therefore, there is a demand from the state government to extend the date.
