Amit Shah meets “affected families”
BJP leaders had alleged that a large number of Hindus were forced to migrate from Kairana due to threats being received during the Samajwadi Party rule and the BJP had made it a major election issue in the 2017 assembly elections as well.
During his campaign, Amit Shah met the “affected families” who, according to him, have returned to Kairana after the BJP came to power. “Those people have to say that now they are not afraid of anything and they are doing business in peace,” Shah said.

Kairana Vidhan Sabha, which comes in Shamli district of UP, is one of the most talked about seats in UP. BJP has given ticket to Mriganka Singh, daughter of late Hukum Singh, a multiple-time MLA from Kairana. On the other hand, Samajwadi Party has given ticket to Nahid Hasan from Kairana, who has been an MLA from here for the last two terms and before that his mother and father have also been MLAs from here.
Sister Nahid Hassan’s campaign campaign
There are many cases registered against Nahid Hasan and Gangster Act is also imposed on him. Nahid Hasan had surrendered in the court a few days ago, after which the court sent him to judicial custody for 14 days and he is currently in jail. In the absence of Nahid Hasan, his sister Iqra Choudhary is looking after his entire campaign.
27-year-old Iqra, who studied in England, had also filed nomination from Kairana as an independent candidate, so that if her brother Nahid’s nomination was rejected for some reason, he could contest in his place. However, the Election Commission has accepted the nomination of Nahid Hasan.
