New Delhi: Addressing a digital program on the occasion of the launch of Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation on Friday, Prime Minister Modi said that technology has made wide reach in the world of music. Urging people to take Indian music to the world, the Prime Minister also called for adopting technology by creating music-based start-ups in the region.
It is noteworthy that this event was organized on the 92nd birth anniversary of Pandit Jasraj. While addressing the program, PM Modi said, “I would request the cultural establishment to focus on two things in particular. We hear of globalization, but its explanation and talks on it are largely confined to the economy. In this era of globalization, it is our responsibility to make Indian music a mark and have a global impact.” He said, “Indian music has the potential to deeply impact the psyche of people. It also strengthens the experience of oneness with nature and divine.
Startups dedicated to music should be prepared in the country. We can see a technological revolution in every sphere, likewise, it should be brought in music too and contribute to global outreach of Indian music: PM Narendra Modi at the launch of Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation. pic.twitter.com/tNfRTxyq77

He said, “Every human being in the world has the right to know, understand and learn Indian music. It is the responsibility of all of us to accomplish this.” The Prime Minister said that his second suggestion is to link music with technology. He said, “Technology has an impact in every walk of life. In such a situation, there should be a technology and IT revolution in the music sector as well.”
He said start-ups dedicated to music should also be formed in the country. He said that these start-ups should be based on Indian musical instruments and traditions. “Our guru-shishya tradition should continue, but it can be further enriched by incorporating technology,” he said.
