Nashik: The rapid changes in the weather have also affected the cultivation of vegetables. Due to this the prices of vegetables are skyrocketing. The price of vegetables in Nashik has suddenly increased rapidly. In other districts also the prices of vegetables have doubled. Crops of many farmers were destroyed in the unseasonal rains. Those whose fields were left with vegetables have got some relief from this increased prices.
Due to less supply of vegetables in the market, farmers are getting the right price for vegetables. But expensive vegetables have spoiled the budget of the urban common man’s house. There is no longer any difference between the prices of vegetables and the prices of petrol and diesel in the city. Brinjal is getting 100 rupees per kg in many areas of Maharashtra. Tomato is getting 80 rupees per kg. Cabbage is getting 60 rupees per kg. Similarly, beet is getting Rs 80 per kg, chilli is getting Rs 60 and fenugreek is getting Rs 70 per kg.

Vegetables are expensive
At present, the reason for this rising inflation has been change in weather, increase in the prices of fertilizers and seeds for vegetables, increase in the cost of irrigation. But this time the unseasonal rains and floods destroyed the cultivation of vegetables. Brinjal has been hit the most by inflation. If the events of change in weather continue even further, then the prices of vegetables may increase further.
The season of inflation came in the season of weddings
At present, the wedding season has started. In such a situation, the demand for vegetables has increased a lot. But the supply of vegetables has decreased instead of increasing against the demand. In such a situation, there is no possibility of any reduction in the prices of vegetables at present. On the contrary, if this trend of changes in the weather continues, then soon it will become difficult for the common man to bear the expenses of vegetables. The problem is that when the price of vegetables is low, the farmers are not able to get the right rate according to the cost. Due to not getting the right rate, wholesalers have to sell at throwaway prices. When the right rate of vegetables is found, then the budget of the common man of the cities gets spoiled.
