Lucknow : Perhaps the last session of the UP Legislative Assembly before the elections has started with a ruckus. The winter session of the Legislative Assembly began with the resignation of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni over the Lakhimpur incident and the uproar by the opposition over the payment of sugarcane prices. The Samajwadi Party MLAs, who were protesting for the demand of sugarcane farmers, reached the house with sugarcane. Earlier, he also staged a dharna inside the assembly premises.

Proceedings adjourned with tribute
On the first day of the winter session of the Assembly, the proceedings were adjourned with tributes to the departed MLAs. Everyone including the Chief Minister paid homage to the death of all the army personnel including the Chief of Defense Staff. Informing about the death of Sukhdev Rajbhar, former Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha and presently MLA from Didarganj in Azamgarh, the Speaker paid tribute.
Vote on Account for the first four months of the financial year 2022-23 will also be offered
The second supplementary budget of the current financial year will be presented on Friday, the second day of the winter session. Simultaneously, vote on account for the first four months of the financial year 2022-23 will also be presented. The size of the Vote on Account to be presented for April to July could be Rs 1.75 lakh crore. Under the vote on account, the draft of the budget has been prepared for the necessary expenses for the month of July in the new financial year. This session of the assembly will be very short. Perhaps this could be the last session of the Assembly, which lasted only 3 days.
