The project of 5th and 6th railway line between Kalwa-Diva is 9.5 km in which bridge over nallah is 4.5 km. is of length. Since the actual testing of rail tracks on the newly constructed bridge over the drain will be done from tomorrow, slow trains on the old bridge will run on this new bridge from tomorrow, MP Dr. Shinde said. Suburban trains run at a speed of 105 kmph. But now during this test, local people will initially run at a speed of 30 kmph and then increase this speed to 50 kmph and then 70 kmph, Shrikant Shinde said. Three more mega blocks will be taken up by the Railways for completion and one of these mega blocks will be taken next week, it will affect the schedule of suburban trains during the trial period and slow down the train service. Sometimes local trains have to be canceled for express train crossings
Presently long distance (express) trains running on this route are disrupting local service and affecting the speed of suburban trains, at times local trains have to be canceled for express train crossings. However, with the opening of the fifth and sixth railway lines, there will be no crossing on this route as the faster, slower local service and express trains will have two routes each, thereby saving time wasted at crossings and speeding up suburban train services. , Also, there will be a significant increase in the number of local round trips from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Kalyan and Thane to Kalyan and this will certainly bring great relief to rail commuters near Thane. Shrikant Shinde said this.
