Amravati. To curb fake doctors, along with taking action on complaints, District Collector Pavneet Kaur has instructed to take suo moto action on Tuesday. Under which he directed the committee constituted in this regard to take initiative and check the degree, registration etc. of private medical professionals at the tehsil level.
She was addressing a meeting of the Fake Medical Professional Prevention Committee at the Collector’s office. District Surgeon Dr. Shyamsunder Nikam, Additional District Health Officer Dr. Revathi Sable, Dr. AT Deshmukh, Dr. Vijay Ajmire, Assistant Commissioner of Police Laxman Dumbre, Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradeep Suryavanshi, Assistant Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration Umesh Ghalote, Dr. Vishal Kale etc. were present.
11 FIRs so far
So far 11 cases have been registered against fake doctors. Four complaints are pending. Giving instructions for immediate action on these, District Collector Kaur said that the committees should take initiative and not wait for complaints. Documents of all private medical professionals should be checked. Tehsil health officials are expected to work more effectively for this. He has also directed to give a letter to this effect from the district committee to the tehsil committee.
Take help of IMA
The Collector said that even after registering the case, complete action should be taken. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) should also be involved in the campaign against fake medical professionals. For this, he also instructed the association to hand over the letter.
