For any person, battling depression is the most difficult moment in his life. During this time, the victim gets a strange idea from suicide. In such a situation, he needs mental treatment. If this is not done, then what can be the result, the example of this is found from a German plane crash. This accident happened on this day itself. Actually, the victim of depression was so frustrated with his life that he made the plane collide with the mountains. In this accident, all 150 people aboard the plane were killed.
On 24 March 2015, Germanwings flight number 9525 flew from Barcelona’s Barcelona-El-Parat Airport to Düsseldorf Airport in Germany. None of the passengers on board the aircraft knew that this was going to be their last trip. The plane crashed into the hills of the French Alps, located 100 kilometers northwest of the city of Nice in France. The plane crash was deliberately done by co-pilot Andreas Lubitz.
Depression information was hidden from the company
Lubitz was previously undergoing treatment for cases such as attempted suicide. His doctor had disqualified him for working. The pilot kept this information hidden from his company and reported for duty. According to the French National Civil Aviation Inquiry Bureau, the pilots took directions from French air traffic control while entering France. After this, the pilot in the plane Lubitz started thinking of suicide.
Pilot started to take down the aircraft by locking the cockpit
A pilot exited the cockpit when the aircraft reached cruise altitude. On seeing this, Lubitz locked the cockpit and began to take the aircraft down rapidly. French air traffic control reported that the aircraft started going down rapidly without any orders. Air traffic control severed the plane’s radio contact and declared the aircraft in jeopardy. Attempts were made to contact the aircraft repeatedly, but no response was given from the other side.
Mirage sent to search for jet, but by then the aircraft had crashed
Information about the loss of contact with the aircraft was given to the French Air Force. After this, a Mirage jet flew to locate the aircraft. But by the time the French jet could find the aircraft, it was late. The plane crashed into the hills of the Alps of France. Air Force helicopters and air ambulances arrived at the scene as soon as the incident was received. In this accident, not a single person on board the aircraft was left alive. 150 people including 6 crew members were killed in this accident.
