Pune: The Mula-Mutha River flowing from Pune has been completely encroached by the kingdom of Jalkumbhi. As a result, the surrounding areas are facing foul smell and mosquito infestation. However, the Pune Municipal Corporation administration is ignoring it. Every year the administration and the concerned contractors wait for when the rains come and take it away, so that the sanctioned contracts worth lakhs of crores of rupees can be grabbed.
The Pune Municipal Corporation has hired a private contractor to extract hyacinth from the Mula-Mutha river with a spider machine. Its working period is from April 2021 to March 31, 2022. Water hyacinth grows in large numbers due to sewage coming into the Mula Mutha river. If the water hyacinth is not removed, then the production of mosquitoes also increases along the river banks.

Hyacinth should be removed from the side of Rajaram bridge
Mutha has been shedding water hyacinth in the river for the last few days. When the Municipal Corporation is working on Rajaram Pool, it was seen that the green sheet of hyacinth was spread for a long time in this area due to water logging in the river, but now this water hyacinth is flowing from Rajaram bridge towards Sangamwadi. In many places the hyacinth is stagnant, so the leaves are sprouting and the hyacinth is growing. It is necessary for the administration that the water hyacinth should be removed from the side of Rajaram bridge. However, the sewerage department is waiting for the water hyacinth to flow further. Officials of the drainage department said that the water hyacinth will be removed in Sangamwadi or Mundwa Jackwell.
