Nagpur. The Education Department made Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) mandatory for the appointment of teachers in government schools, including aided, unaided. Initially, the passing percentage of TET was very low, but due to the fear of losing the job in hand if they did not pass TET, they were made eligible by taking money from ineligible candidates across the state. The cyber cell of Pune Police is investigating the matter. In this, the possibility of falling on many teachers of the department including Nagpur district is also being expressed.
After the arrest of the IAS officer in this case, there has been a stir among those who passed the Tet in a bogus manner. The Education Department has made TET mandatory for the appointment of teachers but it was made mandatory from 13 February 2013. Teachers get recognition only if they are eligible for D.Ed, B.Ed as well as TET. After the implementation of the rule, a period of three years was given to be eligible for this examination. But due to very less proof of passing in the examination, its time period was extended further.
Signs of wire connected across the state
Earlier, recruitment on the post of teaching servant was started in the department from the year 2000. Till then TET was not compulsory. After that job recruitment was banned from 2 May 2012. Only teachers of Mathematics, English and Science were specially recognized for 9th, 10th. This recognition has been given directly from the ministry. Before the ban on teacher recruitment, teaching servants had been recruited across the state. Later, TET has been made mandatory for these teacher servants as well.
It is believed that due to the fear of losing the job, the racket that passed the examination fake to pass the TET became active. About 1,200-1,300 teachers were also appointed in Nagpur department. Now that the Pune Cyber Cell has submitted the list of 7,800 teachers across the state to the Education Department, it is sure to include teachers in the department. This is the reason that after the arrest of Sushil Khodvekar, the then Deputy Secretary of the Education Department, there has been a stir in the entire education department.
