Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President and Kingmaker of the Mahavikas Aghadi government Sharad Pawar has made a big statement regarding the decision to sell wine in grocery stores and super markets. After this statement, it is believed that the Aghadi government can withdraw this decision. Sharad Pawar said that this decision of the government is being opposed from all sides. In view of this protest, if the state government reconsiders its decision and withdraws, then it should not feel bad.
Sharad Pawar said that in fact common people do not know the difference between wine and liquor properly. Therefore, confusion has arisen regarding this decision. Pawar said he would not raise questions if the Maharashtra government withdraws the decision.

According to experts, Pawar has conveyed his signal to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray through this statement. In such a situation, there is every possibility that the Thackeray government may soon announce the withdrawal of this decision. In the cabinet meeting held on January 27, the Thackeray government had approved the decision to sell wine in grocery stores and supermarkets. The state’s main opposition party BJP is strongly opposing this decision of the government.
Devendra Fadnavis supported Pawar
Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis has said that Sharad Pawar’s statement has made it clear that he also feels that the state government made a mistake in this decision and it needs to be withdrawn. Earlier, he had alleged that the state government had taken this decision not for the benefit of the farmers, but to fill the pockets of a few industrialists. Devendra strongly opposed this decision and said that we will not allow Maharashtra to become Madya Rashtra at any cost.
Support of many leaders of Aghadi
Many leaders involved in the Aghadi government of the state have supported the decision to sell wine in grocery stores and supermarkets. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that there is a difference between liquor and wine. In such a situation, BJP should not oppose this decision. While Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut says that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the interests of the farmers. He believes that this will increase the income of the farmers producing fruits. However, now the matter has been reversed after Sharad Pawar’s objection.
BJP has more number of ‘drinkers’
NCP’s national spokesperson and cabinet minister Nawab Malik has targeted the BJP, alleging that the BJP has the highest number of drinkers. He said that apart from the Shivraj government in Madhya Pradesh, the government of Goa and Himachal Pradesh had taken a similar decision, but then the BJP did not protest. Malik has questioned whether the BJP leaders who have got the license to make wine, will he return it. He said that there is so much opposition to the BJP for selling vehicles, so their leaders should also take an oath not to drink.
