Within 15 days, in the late night robbery cases in Gittikhadan and Beltarodi police station areas, the Crime Branch of the city police achieved great success and arrested 7 members of the gang. Of these, 3 accused are from Nagpur city. It is being told that arrest of 3 more gang members is possible. Four of the arrested accused were caught from Raisal district of Madhya Pradesh.
Name of the accused Gulgaon, Teh. Sanchi, District Raisen, MP resident Guru alias Akash alias Gujjar alias Mogya Changiram Gosai (21), Manikpur, District Chitrakoot, UP resident Nirmal Roshanlal Mogya (20) and Rohit alias Bhagat Ramdas Bhagat (24), residents of Dhamarguda, District Vidisha, MP Pintya Babbu Mogya (19), Hari Shriram Asole, resident of MHADA Quarter, Kapilnagar, Sandesh Rokade and Praveen Kanole, resident of Godhni have been identified.
The police seized goods worth Rs 4.60 lakh including four wheelers and 8 mobiles from the accused. The main accused in the incident is being told as Changi Ram. He is currently absconding with his second son and another accused.
Panic was created
It is noteworthy that between November 29 and December 13, the accused had carried out three robberies in Dabha and two in Shivangaon between 2 pm and 5 am. In which he entered the house of an old woman in Dabha and escaped with mangalsutra and cash. Earlier, in the same way, he was found alone in the house of mother and son and was robbed. At the same time, in the Beltarodi police station area, late night, they robbed the husband and wife of goods worth Rs 81,000 including cash worth Rs 32,000.
Used to do raki with tea tapri
The city police commissioner told that the accused used to do reiki by sitting on tea taps made around the residential areas in a very clever way. After understanding in 3-4 days which house has less people, they used to carry out dacoity there. All the incidents had entered inside by breaking the latch of the main door with the help of screwdriver and cutter. Since then it was suspected that it was the work of one gang. The accused have also feared to commit such robbery at places like Umred, Kuhi etc. of Nagpur Rural. Action continues.
Planning under Ramjhula, Changiram trapped in CCTV
Looking at the sequence of the incidents, the Crime Branch scanned the private CCTV recordings installed on almost all the routes of escape of the accused. During this, the CCTV footage from Ramjhule showed Changiram Gosai, a resident of Raisen. Changiram is an old dacoit. According to sources, he was also arrested in 2013 in a robbery in Durga Chowk, Koradi complex. However, for the last several years, he was not active in Nagpur and surrounding areas.

After the incident, the police took the fingers of the dacoits from the spot. When the police saw Changiram in the CCTV cameras, the matching of his old and presently found fingerprints was 100% identical. From here the suspicion of the police increased. On further investigation, it was found that Changiram’s family is also among the beggars living under the Ramjhole. The tip of the police disclosure was found. The reality of the incidents came to the fore after rigorous interrogation of some of the relatives of Changiram. After this, with the help of Bhopal Police, the Crime Branch arrested 4 accused from Raisen district.

Sandesh, who was among the arrested accused, helped him to escape the robbery. It is said that Sandesh has a jewelery shop in Godhni. After the incident, all the accused used to distribute the goods under Ram Jhoola. Sandesh used to arrange a four-wheeler for Changiram, his sons and other accused to escape from the city. After a few days, the accused used to return and then ran away after committing dacoity.
