Lucknow : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has entrusted the youth with the great responsibility of creating a picture of India of the year 2047. Addressing the youth graduating at the 54th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, the Prime Minister said that in this hour of the nectar festival of freedom of the country, when you If you are leaving with the legacy of IIT, then also come out with those dreams that how India will be in 2047.
He has said that for the first 25 years after independence, we should have made efforts to make the country stand on its feet, but since then it has been too late. That is why now we do not have to lose even a single moment, we have to do something. You have to take over the reins of India’s development journey in the coming 25 years.

Interacting with the newly graduated youth at IIT Kanpur, the Prime Minister made the country’s expectation from institutions like IITs and the students here feel their responsibility along with the challenges of their future life. Referring to the historic “Dandi March” of the freedom struggle, the Prime Minister said that the youth of 20-25 years in that era of 1930, their journey till 1947 and the achievement of independence in 1947, was the golden period of their life. Your training, skills and knowledge will prove to be very useful in your coming life. Life would be incomplete without technology, there is immense potential for youth
Introducing the students to the needs and possibilities of the 21st century and the present era of globalization, PM Modi said that this era, this 21st century, is completely technology-oriented. Even in this decade, technology is going to increase its dominance in different fields. Life without technology would now be incomplete in a way. This is the age of competition of life and technology and I am sure you will definitely come out ahead in this. In 75th year we have more than 75 unicorns
Sharing his dream of “Self-reliant India”, the Prime Minister said that who would not want Indian companies to become global, India’s products to become global. The one who knows IIT, knows the talent here, knows the hard work of the professors here, believes that the youth of IIT will definitely do it. He said, “You must have seen impatience in my words but I want you to become impatient for a self-reliant India in the same way. Self-reliant India is the basic form of complete independence, where we will not depend on anyone. He said that if we will not be self-reliant, then how will our country fulfill its goals, how will it reach its destination? Encouraging the youth, he said that you can do it, I have faith in you. Keeping the picture of changing India, PM said that in this 75th year of independence we have more than 75 unicorns, more than 50 thousand startups. Out of these, 10 thousand startups have come only in the last 6 months. Initiatives like Startup India, Stand Up India and Atal Innovation Mission have been started in the last seven years. It has given a new path for the youth of the country. The Prime Minister also gave information about the usefulness, importance and nuances of the new education policy.

The role of institutions like IITs in the development of the state is important: CM Yogi
In the convocation ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi as a special guest congratulated the youth receiving the degree. He said that IIT Kanpur has set many examples of mutual cooperation with the State Government. Appreciating the role of IIT Kanpur, BHU and IIM Lucknow in the development of the state, he said that the State Government along with IIT Kanpur has created a new super school in the name of School of Medical Research and Technology to successfully meet the challenges of pandemic like Corona. In-principle consent has been given to set up the Institute of Specialty Medicine. This School of Medical Research and Technology will prove to be useful in dealing with the health challenges of the state and will also play an important role in promoting the medical technology eco-system in the state. Reiterating his resolve for quality technology and vocational education in the state, the Chief Minister also expressed the expectation of cooperation in the development of the state’s institutions, training of teachers etc.
