Thailand on People Who Came From Myanmar: Thousands of people are fleeing towards neighboring countries to escape the brutality of Myanmar Army in Myanmar. A large number of these people have reached Thailand. Meanwhile, a news came that the government of Thailand has spoken to these people to go back to Myanmar. The Prime Minister here on Tuesday denied that the country’s security forces have sent back the villagers who survived the air strikes in Myanmar.
He said that his government is ready to give shelter to any person who has survived the struggle. A day earlier, human rights groups said that Thailand’s military has started repatriating thousands of survivors of the Myanmar army’s serial airstrikes. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha (Prayut Chan-o-cha) told reporters, ‘Myanmar Protests After Coup has not started yet. We are asking people coming to Thailand if they have any problem in their country. If they say no, then we advise them to return to their country. We are not using any kind of force.
Military coup took place in February
In Myanmar, the army had a coup on February 1, after which people are protesting on the streets. The army imposed a one-year emergency as soon as it took power and detained the elected government leaders just before the Parliament session began (Myanmar Protests Against Military Coup). Since then, people have been protesting demanding the restoration of democracy in the country. The army is using all kinds of violent methods to suppress the voice of the people (Myanmar Protests Death Toll). So far, the army has killed more than 500 people.
Many countries including U.N. condemned
Many countries of the world including the United Nations have condemned the military coup. The army has killed 114 people on Saturday alone. This day is being described as the most violent day since the coup. After this, the army also fired on those who attended the funeral of these dead (Myanmar Protests Background). Also, bombed overnight in Karen village here. After which people have no other way but to save their lives and escape (Myanmar Protests Casualties). The US has also suspended the trade agreement with Myanmar, condemning these incidents.
